THE BODY AS SITE

Using the body itself as a medium to guide the act of drawing as artist Heather Hansen does is an effective way to explore and create images that are unexpected and dynamic.

These pieces are created by allowing the movement of the body to control the charcoal on the paper, rather than any thought intention.

Meditation music is played and students use both left and right hands and forearms. They are able to achieve creative flow through the music, the movement and the silencing of the judgemental side of the brain.
