Framing With Wire

CAARP

As we collaborated on the painting task, we once again united with the child artists and made this large group piece comprised of individual wire sculptures. The sculptures were fashioned in wire after drawings done of the cityscape.

Once we had drawings to work from, the student artists and teacher artists  made wire sculptures, allowing for a multitude of literacies - visual, hand-eye coordination, spatial. The sculptures were all laid down on a long sheet of paper and the lights were dimmed. The wire city that the child and adult artists had created was then lit with mobile phone torches and the silhouettes created were sketched in in charcoal.

The final collaborative artwork is evidence of creativity being cultivated through play and group work.
